ARD Morgenmagazin 01

ARD Morgenmagazin

Client: Westdeutscher Rundfunk Cologne
Assignment: Set design
Implementation period: July 2009 – June 2011

The ARD Morning Show is a daily three and a half hour TV magazine broadcast from Cologne. The background image is a large panoramic view of an imagined city printed on fabric. A special print technique combined with illumination from both sides of the fabric make it possible to create a realistic light atmosphere at dawn. This emphasises the live character of the show, especially in winter (when it is still dark when the show begins).

Pivotable monitors and a large touch screen facilitate a range of camera angles and anchorman positions.
